Your awesome Tagline

elvis-shrugged asked: Re: Joss Whedon. You mean like Alien: Resurrection? I rewatched it for the first time in years a few weeks ago and his mediocre script sank what could have been a fun romp (Winona! Jean-Pierre Jeunet!). I'm kind of cold on Whedon in general these days, anyway.

In general he’s much more successful at long-form serialized narratives; he’s very good at both comics and television writing.  However his movie scripts are generally awful.  Especially considering the only line left of his in the X-Men movie is that “What happens to a frog when it is hit by lightning,” bit.  I know Halle Berry completely blew that line (cuz she’s a terrible actress spouting an awful line), but still.

Also, he did rewrites on Waterworld and Speed. That should tell you everything about the calibre of his writing.
