I'm a law student interested in space flight; comics; retro and futurism specifically from the 30s, 60s, and 70s; and other nerdy pursuits.

God on Trial, written by Frank Cottrell Boyce, is a 2008 film produced by the BBC concerning an apocryphal trial during the Holocaust in which God was accused of breach of contract with the Jewish people.  A variety of views are argued (I probably agree most with the French scientist who analogizes belief in God with the belief that the Sun revolves around the Earth; “it is an illusion based on where you happen to be standing at the time”).  It is entirely possible to agree with any of those who argue in front of the court.
All in all, it is a very interesting movie, one that I think people should see. If I were in the Geekscape Movie Club, for instance, this would be my pick as I think the discussion it would provoke would be interesting.
“Did the Amalekites think that Adonai was just? Did the mothers of Egypt — the mothers — did they think that Adonai was just?”“But Adonai is our God, surely—”“Oh what? Did God not make the Egyptians?”
