Vaneta Rogers of Newsarama shares reactions of various comic book industry folks about the upcoming Apple iPad

What do you guys think? That is really what matters.

I think that it could be a really great thing. If Marvel or DC came out with a subscription service, like $20/mo for 15 comics, and then X for every comic over 15 I would love the device. But there’s no way I would buy trades on it or OGNs without the ability to “lend” it to someone. So I buy it, but the license would transfer to another person. While that license is with another person, I wouldn’t have access to the book. That would be the killer app. It would encourage everyone to buy their own copy, and keep up the loaner economy that typically exists amongst comics fan.
